The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Tabernacle of Restoration, Inc. (Fondly called RCCG, Tabernacle of Restoration) was established on March 3, 2002.

The establishment of the parish was borne out the vision of the General Overseer of RCCG Churches worldwide: Church planting vision, as a missionary church, all over the world. Tabernacle of Restoration was initially located at East 189th St, near Fordham University, Bronx New York. As a result of the rapid growth, the church relocated to a bigger and more decent facility on White Plains Road, between 240 and 241 street, in Bronx, after six months of its inception. The church intended to run a daycare center here because it was sizable enough (with two auditorium). That was why we were confident to lease the facility for $6,500.00 monthly. However, we could not continue to use the location for either church or daycare because there was a zoning law which forbade us from using the property of the above mentioned purposes. Although the issue of getting a new property for the parish tested the resilience of the leadership and membership of the church in its entirety, the congregants were undaunted by the presenting challenges during the period. We continued to use the place and paying that amount until we got a community hall to use temporarily.

Finally, on April 11, 2004, we moved into our present location at 925 East 230 street, Bronx New York. In March 2010, the Church was able to purchase the facility. Although that could have happened as early as 2007, the former owner wanted to get out of the contract the church had with him, and therefore did not want to sell the property any longer. Consequently, a legal battle, between the ex-owner and the church, ensued in 2007. That was the state of things until settlement was brokered and he sold the building to the church.

In line with the church planting vision of the mission, coupled with the rapid growth the church is experiencing, RCCG Tabernacle of Restoration launched a branch of the Church in Stamford, Connecticut, in March 2005, precisely, on the 3rd Anniversary of the church. In 2010, we were able to establish two additional branches in Yonkers and Mount Vernon, New York. Another branch was opened in June of 2012 in TarryTown.

RCCG Tabernacle of Restoration was made an Area headquarters ( four other parishes or branches were under its control) by 2007. In 2011, it became a Zonal Headquarters (having 14 branches under it). The recognition given to this church is due to the spiritual, numerical, and financial increase it has been recording, since the inception of the church. We continue to grow in all ramifications. Due to the faithfulness the church of members, the church has been growing financially every year, because members are giving generously. The consequence is that the finances of the church are getting better every year, as the church financial statements clearly indicate.

Despite the level of successes the church has achieved, there are some teething problems facing it. First of all, the Children ministry arm of the church is growing exponentially to the extent there is no adequate space for the children population. Secondly, there are no offices for the Senior Pastor, the Pastor’s wife, accounting department, etc. there is equally no room to store provisions for the food pantry initiative. Therefore, the community empowerment was in a bad shape.

Hierarchically speaking, the Redeemed Christian Church of god is headed by the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch .A. Adeboye, and the leader of the mission worldwide, with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. However, for legal and administrative purposes, the church in the United States and Canada is headed by the most senior pastor, James Fadele, who has the title Chairman. With the head office in Dallas, the church is called here in the United States the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, North America, Inc (RCCGNA, Inc.) He presides over the Board of Provincial Pastors, who report to him directly. Under the provincial pastors are zonal coordinators, who report to the provincial pastors directly. The zonal coordinators, on the other hand, supervise between 10 and 15 pastors who are in charge of branches of RCCGNA. Area pastors supervise four or five branches and deal directly on a daily basis with the pastors in those churches and report directly to the zonal coordinators.

In Tabernacle of Restoration, the Pastor is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the church. Under the Pastor is his assistant. The Pastor’s wife pastors the church alongside with the Pastor. The Board of Trustees represents the highest decision-making organ of the church which helps the pastor run the church smoothly.

Tabernacle of Restoration (TOR) is one of the over 20,000 Parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) under the leadership of Pastor E. A. Adeboye, fondly called Daddy G.O.

RCCG was established in Lagos, Nigeria in 1952 and has rapidly grown to the Glory of God with thousands of parishes and over 5 million worshipers worldwide.

Tabernacle of Restoration was born on March 3, having being launched out by our Provincial Pastor, Pastor Daniel Adeniran-Ajayi. We are the first parish to come out of RCCG, Chapel of Restoration, an Area headquarters that gradually metamorphosed into a Provincial Headquarters.

We started at 625 E 189th St, near Fordham University. Six months later, we relocated to White Plains Rd in the North Bronx section of the Bronx. On February 15th, 2004, we moved to a small community hall because of unresolved issued at the previous location. On April 11, 2004, we moved to our present location and to the glory of God, in March 2010, we closed on the property officially making us the owners of this glorious property.

We are dynamic multinational house of worship, determined to build people that are heaven minded and earthly relevant. Join Us.
